Hello Friends!

It’s a slow Tuesday here after the rain which visited most of southern Finland yesterday. A bit too damp out there for my liking to do garden work today. So I strapped on the hikers and ventured forth on a wee ramble about the neighborhood and its surrounds. Deciding the situations were in my favor, I went out beyond the usual familiar circuits and sought out the one beach head I hadn’t been to in a great long while.

Our neighborhood of Vähä-Routio is situated amid two large lakes, Lohjanjäarvi and Hormajärvi. With each lake very close, it’s not hard to catch a lake view. Some treks are among the choicest circuits for not only a pleasurable walk, but also amazing lake vistas once you reach the water’s edge. There were few boats in the water with people fishing I noticed, which might be typical for a Tuesday at midday. I don’t know, as this was an infrequent outing for me. I’m usually pretty well tucked into some garden task or other most days. I noticed too how several of the moored canoes and rowboats had been doing a fair bit of water collection with the rain from yesterday, and a couple hint at maybe longer than just yesterday. In this example the owners have been tying up there for a very long time as is evidenced by the chain being consumed by the tree. But the owners don’t appear to be frequenting the tie-up anymore, and their boat looked rather worse for the neglect.

Farther along, I took this picture of some boats hauled up on the shore edge. And I just decided once I got home that I’d play around with the image a bit and throw on a filter to see what I could do with some manipulation of the image. What do you think? Which image do you like the best?

And a bit more of another image.

All in all, a perfect day for a nice outing to take in the wonderful vistas of Lohjanjärvi. I hope your days are going well, and you are enjoying the first weeks of June, wherever you may be. Thank you for stopping by today.

Until next time ❤
