Too good not to share.
This resonates with me and I’m moved to share it with you.

Artie & Stu

“I give you this to take with you:
Nothing remains as it was. If you know this, you can
begin again, with pure joy in the uprooting.”
― Judith Minty, Letters to My Daughters

I memorize
the contours
of trees
across the skyline
as the sun sets
behind.

In the morning
I study the
fog which
surrounds and encloses
east, west, north & south.

By mid-day I’m
looking for patterns
in the clouds,
identifying images which
will help me
remember exactly
being here.

I wake up
in the middle
of the night,
try to identify
every planet, the stars
and the phase
of the moon
by its silver sliver.

I do this
knowing
none of it
is the same, ever
incrementally
changing
quickly and slowly.

Maybe
I’m the
ineffable one, I think,
but I feel like,
to me, I’m the
only
constant.
