We are delighted and extremely proud to be a participant in the 2019 Avoimet Puutarha (Finland’s National Open Garden Day Scheme)

Pekka and I have labored long & hard throughout the previous four (4) years to renovate our Rintamamiestalo home & garden – Vanha Talo Suomi.  We have achieved so much in such a short time.  It’s surprising what you can accomplish when you have a solid plan, teamwork, and ample energy to get the job done.

There are two main takeaways I’ve learned from our renovation project

  1. Good planning cannot be over-stressed!
  2. Follow-through is imperative to seeing a project to completion.

It’s so easy to stop and call it quits and to be distracted by other pursuits. This project is still an ongoing endeavor with a few things each of us would like to add before we put down our spades & pruners. Realistically, it’s now possible to ease up on the single focus drive which has served me so well throughout the entire renovation process and take a slower approach as we lean into the final stretch.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Gardens of Vanha Talo Suomi and are possibly contemplating a visit during Avoimet Puutarha – We warmly welcome you and look forward to seeing you! Our garden space is 3000sqM and offers something for everyone.

Some BEFORE photos which show what we started with. Come see us during Avoimet Puutarha 07.07.2019 for the AFTER views! You’ll be amazed!!
